My film career began after a successful nine year career in Engineering, working for a number of blue chip companies. In 2002, I decided to retrain and having graduated from Northumbria University in 2005, I have worked freelance ever since, working on a diverse range of professional projects, including advertisements, corporate and factual videos, drama projects, short films and feature film productions, taking on a number of different roles which covers the full spectrum of the film production process, but mainly concentrating on Assistant Directing, which has seen me fulfil roles as 3rd AD and occasionally as 1st AD, on shorts and feature films. Since starting in the industry I have combined my love of assistant directing with my passion for developing and producing films. Since 2006, as Mainstream Film and Media, I have been working as Producer, Camera Operator and Editor, to produce high quality films for the corporate sector, which has seen our clients use our films to launch and promote new products and services, capture events, inform their audience of new developments in their business, train staff and enhance their company profile. More recently, since 2008 our community projects have been growing steadily, building a good reputation for delivering high quality film projects, and establishing a good track record with our work with arts organisations, schools, community groups and local authorities. Through our workshops, using the medium of photography and digital video, our script to screen sessions lead our learners through the ‘nuts and bolts’ of filmmaking. Whilst our documentary commissions, have recorded numerous projects that have taken place throughout the region.
